The facts show that it can happen. Professor Arthur Aron from State University of New York at Stonybrook has done research into the dynamics that occur when two people fall in love.
"When you meet someone under conditions that are highly arousing, a time when the body is stirred up and excited, we tend to experience attraction at a heightened level,” Aron says.
Highly arousing… that’s Team Paint Couples.
“There is an amazing amount of energy and play, along with creativity and romance, that happens when two people stand side by side putting paint on a canvas,” says Beverly Todd, Team PaintTM founder and couples coach.
Team Paint Couples is an arts-based venture guiding couples through three easy steps to art and love. This is the only experience of its kind in the country, says Todd, who’s also an artist.
“From years of coaching, and dating, we’ve discovered three things that turn up the heat on love,” Todd says.
Sharing an exhilarating activity. “But I’m not an artist,” is often the first thing we hear. Happily, no creativity is required. Together couples paint how emotions feel, creating original art.
Expressing attraction. “I had a great time painting with you,” gives her the green light to return the words of affection. “Me too, you’re really cute with blue paint on your nose,” she replies.
Giving the senses a boost. Engage the five senses and turn on the “cuddle hormone” oxytocin with a serving of chocolate and champagne, glowing lights, romantic music, hand painting, and eye gazing.

“When it’s time to get to know someone romantically, do it in a way that engenders chemistry,” Todd says.
Team Paint Couples debuts in Omaha on Valentine’s Day, Sunday, February 14, 4 to 6 PM. It will be held at Heritage Food and Wine/Hotel Deco. Cost is $130 per couple.
